Cold front number 24, accompanied by an arctic air mass, will bring a significant drop in temperatures, rain and possible frost in the Valley of Mexico between January 20 and 23. Cloudy skies, moderate to heavy rains, and a marked cooling at night are expected. In addition, the wind coming from the north could intensify during the days of greatest frontal activity.

Weather Forecast for the Valley of Mexico

Mexico City

  • Monday, January 20: Cloudy skies with light rain in the afternoon and evening, especially in the southern and western areas. Minimum temperature of 8°C (46°F) and maximum of 20°C (68°F). North winds of 10–20 km/h (6–12 mph) with gusts of up to 35 km/h (22 mph).

  • Tuesday, January 21: Moderate rain is likely during the early morning hours. Cool daytime conditions with a high of 18°C (64°F) and a low of 7°C (45°F). Persistent winds from the north-northeast.

  • Wednesday, January 22: Rainfall decreases, but nighttime temperatures will drop further, reaching lows of 5°C (41°F) in elevated areas. Mostly cloudy skies with some sunny intervals in the afternoon. High of 19°C (66°F).

  • Thursday, January 23: Improved atmospheric conditions, though cold mornings remain, particularly in Milpa Alta and Tlalpan, where light frosts may occur. Temperatures range from 6°C (43°F) to 21°C (70°F).

State of Mexico

  • Saturday, January 20: Moderate to heavy rain in the northern and central parts of the state, with significant accumulation in municipalities like Toluca and Valle de Bravo. Lows of 4°C (39°F) and highs of 16°C (61°F).

  • Sunday, January 21: Light rain persists in the southern region. Cold mornings with lows of 2°C (36°F) in high-altitude areas such as Zinacantepec, and wind chill temperatures as low as 0°C (32°F).

  • Monday, January 22: Cloudy to partly cloudy skies, with the possibility of drizzle in the eastern areas. Temperatures will range from 3°C (37°F) to 17°C (63°F), with frosts in mountainous zones like Nevado de Toluca.

  • Tuesday, January 23: Weather conditions improve, though morning chill remains. Minimums will hover around 2°C (36°F), with maximums reaching 18°C (64°F), especially in lower areas like Valle de Chalco.
